Tofu gets a bad rap, but it is easily flavoured, and is an excellent source of protein.
Ingredients
- Extra firm tofu-whole block
- Liquid smoke
- Tamari
- Smoked paprika
Directions
- Put tofu in casserole dish.
- Drizzle on a tiny bit of liquid smoke, tamari, and sprinkle with smoked paprika.
- Flip over a couple times to get seasoning on both sides.
- Put in 300° oven, for 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove and let cool, then slice block as desired.
- Sprinkle with tamari.
- Grill on a cast iron grill pan, each side, until golden brown.
Your tofu slices will taste rich and smokey, terrific as a meat substitute in many dishes. It’s especially delicious on grilled ciabatta buns with vegan cheese, mayo, spinach and red onion.
